Jämtland Upper Secondary School Association is responsible for upper secondary schools, adapted upper secondary education, and parts of adult education in our member municipalities. The Association's eight schools are located in natural and mountainous environments spread across six municipalities – Berg, Bräcke, Krokom, Ragunda, Åre, and Östersund.

Jämtlands Gymnasium Berg is located in Svenstavik, the central town of Berg Municipality. Here, we offer a safe and personal study environment where every student has room to grow. Description

Jämtlands Gymnasium Berg is seeking a licensed teacher in sports with a specialization in alpine skiing for our NIU (National Training Center) in Åsarna, Klövsjö, and Svenstavik for the academic year 2026/2027. With us, you will contribute to developing the future international elite in skiing.

The position is a permanent full-time employment (100%), provided you hold a teaching license in alpine sports. You will have the opportunity to combine teaching with elite sports. If you lack a secondary school teaching license in sports, we welcome you to complete your qualification in parallel with your work.

Your future tasks

The work involves teaching sports with a specialization in alpine skiing. You will plan, conduct, evaluate, and grade students' training in close collaboration with other teachers and coaches.

You will be involved in the school's development work together with colleagues and the principal. The role requires good leadership skills and the ability to independently plan and conduct teaching.

Collaboration is a natural part of the assignment, and you will work closely with colleagues in an environment where students combine their studies with a focus on alpine skiing.

Who are you?

You hold a teaching license with qualification in sports. You have completed the Swedish Ski Federation's training ladder, relevant higher education, or equivalent. You have good competence in alpine skiing.

As a person, you are engaged, positive, and driven with good collaboration skills. You enjoy working with young people and have a well-developed pedagogical ability.

You find it easy to create and maintain professional contacts, both internally and externally, and act as a good ambassador for JGY Berg in training and competition contexts. You are a clear role model in the school's activities.

Previous experience as a coach in alpine skiing is an asset, particularly in speed disciplines. You also have knowledge in test methodology, training theory, and discipline-specific technique.
